FCT Surface Cleaning was engaged by Edith Cowan University (ECU) to carry out specialised abrasive blasting work across the campus, delivering permanent artwork and signage installations into existing surfaces.
Using custom-cut stencils and wet abrasive blasting, the FCT team etched Aboriginal artwork into bench seats and blasted signage directly into the entry stonework. Wet abrasive blasting was the right call for this application as it reduces surface deterioration, making it well suited to stone and masonry where the integrity of the surrounding material needs to be preserved throughout the process.
Controlling the velocity and pattern of the blast allowed the team to work precisely within each stencil, producing clean, accurate results across both surfaces. The finish is permanent and built to endure.
